Brief History

The club was formed in the late 60's when the Cost Office Cavaliers played in a tournament in the Isle of Man. They became Furness Cavaliers, joined the Barrow Sunday League and by the mid 70's were very successful. The decision to move to Saturday football was taken and after playing in the North Western League the club purchased the land at Rampside Road so they could join the Furness Premier League. The early years were tough and trophies didn't arrive until Dave Staunton took over as manager. In the late 90's the club was so strong that a move to the West Lancashire League was the obvious way forward. Unfortunately Dave Staunton left at the beginning of the 2002 season and the early years were difficult but young players were given the chance to prove themselves. The peak was a third place finish in Division Two in 2009. A number of players have moved on to success at clubs playing at a higher level but the club continues to encourage young players to develop as footballers and men. We are proud to have won awards for our hospitality and hope that all visitors enjoy their time at Rampside Road. We have plans to develop another full size pitch and a new pitch for the junior section plus a training area.
